A new method has been added for launching applications in Unifinity Application Player from external sources.
When a user selects an app to try out on the upcoming Unifinity Marketplace which will open after the Marketplace launch, the selected app will now be automatically downloaded by Unifinity Application Player and launched immediately.
Shortcut Launch Enhancements
The shortcut creation feature in Unifinity Application Player’s app menu has been revised:
Windows: A desktop shortcut is now created in the format
uniplayer://app/[AppName].Android: A home screen shortcut is now created in the format
https://dl.unifinity.app/app/[AppName].iOS: A new menu has been added to guide users through integrating with the iOS Shortcuts app.
(See details here.)
When query parameters are appended to the URL, they can now be retrieved within the app via the push notification/metadata acquisition logic.
3.Bug Fixes
3-1. Fixed Increased Image File Size Issue on iOS
Resolved an issue in the iOS version of Unifinity Application Player where images loaded through the image loading logic resulted in unnecessarily large file sizes.
3-2. Fixed Unintended Half-Width Space Input in Text Boxes on iOS
Resolved an issue in the iOS version of Unifinity Application Player where tapping a text box could sometimes insert unintended half-width spaces.
EDIT(2026/01/20): This fixes a bug that occurred on iOS and iPadOS where the Undo function was enabled when entering text, causing the app to crash when performing the operation.
4.Specification Changes / Other Updates
4-1. Updated Player Authentication Screen
The authentication screen of Unifinity Application Player has been redesigned.
Additionally, the item previously labeled “Company ID” has been renamed and repositioned as follows:
Before: “Company ID” (bottom input field)
After: “Tenant ID” (top input field)
4-2. Automatic Launch of Menu Application
For users of the Free Edition of Unifinity Application Player, the Menu Application will now automatically launch after authentication.
4-3. Extended Display Area Behind System Bars on Android
In the Android version of Unifinity Application Player, the app’s display area now extends behind the system bars to fill the entire screen.
This can be configured via the Unifinity Studio property:
“Extend drawing area behind system bars (Android only)”
EDIT(2026/01/20): Some of the changes made as a result of this change were not listed previously, so they have been added to sections 4-3-1 and 4-3-2 below.
4-3-1.Changing the operation of components
4-3-1-1. Message box button order
The order of buttons in message boxes displayed by applying the "YesNoCancel" button type parameter to the "Message/Display the message box" logic has been changed.
4-3-1-2. Date input operation
When the input content is set to "Date" or "Date and time" in the "Text" control, or when the input content parameters for "Date" or "Date and time" are specified in the "Dialog/Input" logic, the date input operation has been changed from drum roll format to calendar format.
4-3-1-3. Time input operation
When the input content is set to "Time" or "Date and time" in the "Text" control, or when the input content parameters for "Time" or "Date and time" are specified in the "Dialog/Input" logic, the time input operation has been changed from drum roll format to dial format.
4-3-2. Changing the operation of receiving application when connecting to Unifinity Studio
Previously, a receive button was displayed at the top of the screen when connecting to Unifinity Studio, but this has been removed in this version. This allows for a real-time preview that is closer to the actual usage scenario.
The operation to receive an application has been changed to tapping the screen with two fingers during real-time preview.
4-4. Discontinued “Launch App at OS Startup” Feature on Android
The Android version of Unifinity Application Player no longer includes the “Launch app at OS startup” option in properties.
4-5. Specification Change to Metadata Retrieval Logic
The logic formerly named “Push Notification / Get Metadata” has been renamed to “Control Statement / Get Metadata.” (As this is a name change only, existing applications and projects can continue to be used without any modification.)
It now also supports retrieving query parameters when the app is launched via a shortcut.
