The “Project” tab lets you view and modify the settings of the currently open project. This tab is not displayed when no project is open.
| Item | Description |
|---|---|
| Project Name | The name of the project. This value is also used as the default application name when the project is received in Unifinity Application Player. |
| Version Number | Assigning a version number makes it easier to manage changes and new features in your Unifinity application. We recommend following Microsoft’s recommended version numbering scheme. When distributing applications through UniBaaS, assign an appropriate version number so that the application is recognized as a new version. |
| Icon | Set the icon displayed in Unifinity Application Player. Click “Browse…” and select an image file to change the icon. Click “Clear” to restore the default icon. |
| Startup Screen | Specify the screen displayed when the application starts. If no screen is specified, the first screen in the screen definition list is displayed. |
| On Startup | Specify the logic to execute when the application starts. |
| On Exit | Specify the logic to execute when the application exits. |
System Bar Display
Choose whether to display the following system bars when running a Unifinity application on a smartphone:

You can also choose whether to display the menu bar when running the application on Windows.
On Android, you can additionally choose whether the screen content extends behind the system bars.

Choose whether the Enter key can move focus between controls when running the application on Windows.
You can also select how the cursor behaves when a text box receives focus: “Default,” “End,” “Beginning,” or “Select All.” Settings configured for individual text boxes take precedence.
Picker Dialog
Choose whether to display a “Clear” button in picker dialogs used to select dates, times, or options when running the application on a smartphone.
On iOS, you can also choose whether tapping outside the picker dialog cancels the input.
On iPad, you can additionally choose whether the picker dialog appears next to the tapped control.
Built-in Web View
Choose whether to use an Edge-based web view on Windows. When this option is turned off, an IE-based web view is used.
This setting applies to the “Web View” and “Handwriting View” controls, as well as the “1503_Dialog/Show Internal Browser” logic component.
Screen Orientation
Set the screen orientation used when running the application on a smartphone.
Screen Fit
Specify how the form fits the device’s screen when the application starts on a smartphone.
- Stretch to Fit
Scale the form horizontally and vertically to fill the device’s screen. - Fit Within Screen
Scale the form while preserving its aspect ratio so that the entire form fits within the screen.
Internal Database
Choose whether to store the internal database in memory or encrypt it.
- In-Memory
Storing the database in main memory can speed up data reads and writes. However, the data is not retained when the application exits. - Encryption
Encrypting the database prevents data from being recovered from the SQLite file.

Tip: Showing or Hiding the Navigation Bar and Windows Menu Bar
Enabling “Navigation Bar (Android 4.4 or Later)” or “Windows Menu Bar” allows users to close a running Unifinity application even if no exit logic has been implemented. On Windows, select “Close Project” from the menu. On Android, tap the Back button in the navigation bar.
Caution: Screen Orientation Settings in Version 3.6.1 and Later
The “Lock to Upside-Down Portrait” screen orientation setting was discontinued in version 3.6.1.
Caution: Project Names
Transferring an application to Unifinity Application Player may cause problems if its project name contains characters that are not allowed in file names.
For example, an application whose project name contains a slash (“/”), which is used as a folder separator, will not appear on the Unifinity Application Player launcher screen after transfer.
Refer to the documentation for each operating system for details on characters that are not allowed in file names.
