Steps to Get Started
Before you can start using UniBaaS, administrators and users each perform the tasks below.
What Administrators Do
UniBaaS administrators work through the following steps.
Preparation
| Task | Description | |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Collect user information | Organize the information for the users you will register in UniBaaS, such as names and email addresses. |
| 2 | Decide the distribution policy | Decide which users will receive Unifinity apps, and when. |
Tasks in the Admin Console
| Task | Description | |
|---|---|---|
| 3 | Log in to the admin console | Log in to the admin console with the tenant ID and account we notified you of when you signed up. |
| 4 | Register groups | Organize users into groups based on your distribution policy, and register the groups in UniBaaS. You can also operate without groups. App files and push notifications can be sent to individual users or to all users. |
| 5 | Register users | Register the users who will receive distributions in UniBaaS. You also set each user's group at this stage. |
| 6 | Notify users | Tell the registered users their tenant ID. If you registered a user by user ID, also tell them their user ID and password. |
| 7 | Register distribution files | Register the completed Unifinity app in UniBaaS. After uploading the file, set the recipients (users/groups) it will be distributed to. |
After Operations Begin
| Task | Description |
|---|---|
| Operating push notifications | You can send push notifications to users of the Unifinity apps registered in UniBaaS. |
| Improving apps | Update the Unifinity app based on improvement requests from users, and update the distribution file. Users can then download the updated app. |
| Managing licenses in use | When registering users in UniBaaS, check from time to time that you have enough licenses. You can check license usage on the administrator dashboard. |
What Users Do
UniBaaS users work through the following steps.
| Task | Description | |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Complete account registration | When an administrator registers a user by email address, an email is automatically sent to that user. Follow the instructions in the email to complete your account registration. If the administrator registered you by user ID, no email is sent. Instead, you will receive the user ID and password issued by the administrator. |
| 2 | Install the latest Player | Install the latest version of Unifinity Application Player. See "4. Installing Unifinity Application Player." |
| 3 | Set your user information | In the installed Unifinity Application Player, enter the tenant ID, user ID (your email address or the user ID issued by the administrator), and password, and log in. See "5. Authenticating Your Device." |
| 4 | Download the Unifinity app | Use Unifinity Application Player to download and run the Unifinity app. See "2. Distribution Using UniBaaS." |
[Note]
If you have a suggestion for improving an app: Please tell your administrator about anything you notice or would like improved while using the app. When the administrator updates the app and registers it again, you can download the updated version.
