“Simple Creation” is the easiest way to build an app. Answer a few questions, and Unifinity Wizard automatically creates the basic structure for you. This page walks you through the steps from the home screen to the preview screen.
The overall workflow is shown below.
1. Choose a Creation Method (Home Screen)
The home screen appears when you launch Unifinity Wizard.
- Choose a creation method from the cards in the center. To start Simple Creation, select “Create by Answering Questions” on the “Simple Creation” card.
- Use the links at the bottom of the screen to edit an existing app or import data from CSV, JSON, or kintone.
| Card | Next Step |
|---|---|
| Create from a Form | Start analyzing a form |
| Choose a Template | Select a template |
| Simple Creation | Select a use case and fields |
| Create from Scratch | Open the preview screen |
2. Choose a Use Case and Suggested Fields
After selecting Simple Creation, you will see a screen that provides suggested fields (presets) based on the type of work your app will support.
- Choose a use case icon: Select an icon, such as inspections or daily reports, to automatically populate suggested fields for that use case.
- Enter text: Enter keywords describing your intended use in the “Or Enter Text” field to display suggestions. Select a suggestion or press Enter to confirm.
- You can also select “Next” without choosing anything. In this case, you will proceed with an empty field list.
3. Choose Your Fields
Next, decide which fields (data) you want to enter and manage in the app. If you already use a form for this work, use its fields as a starting point.
Adding, Editing, and Deleting Fields
| Action | How |
|---|---|
| Add a field | Enter text in the “Add a Field” box at the bottom, then click the plus (+) button or press Enter. Duplicate field names are not allowed. |
| Rename a field | Click the pencil icon on the field tag to edit its name directly. |
| Delete a field | Click the × button on the field tag. |
At this stage, you only need to enter field names. You can configure input methods (text, camera, calendar, and so on) and whether fields are required later in “Field Settings.” For now, focus on identifying the fields you need.
4. Separate Basic Information and On-Site Information
Once you have chosen your fields, divide them into “Basic Information” and “On-Site Information.”
You can also ask AI to organize the fields for you. See “Using AI to Organize Fields” below.
Basic Information vs. On-Site Information
-
Basic Information: Information registered in advance, before work begins on site. Each record contains one set of basic information.
- Examples include a production plan for a daily production report or a scheduled inspection in an inspection app.
- On-Site Information: Information entered as work is performed, such as details of the work carried out on site.
Initially, all fields are placed under “Basic Information.” To add on-site information, click “Add a Step” to create a step, then move the relevant fields to “On-Site Information.”
Moving Fields
Drag and drop field tags between Basic Information and the steps under On-Site Information.
Steps (Dividing On-Site Information)
You can further organize on-site information into “steps.”
| Action | How | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Add a step | Click “Add a Step.” | Up to 8 steps |
| Rename a step | Enter a name in the step card’s name field. | |
| Reorder steps | Use the up and down arrow buttons on the step cards. | |
| Delete a step | Click the trash icon on the step card. | If fields are assigned to the step, a confirmation appears. After deletion, those fields return to Basic Information. |
If you create two or more steps, the app provides a separate input screen for each step and automatically creates a list screen showing progress. If you need nine or more steps, customize the generated app in Unifinity Studio.
Allowing Multiple Entries
Select “Allow Multiple Entries” on a step card to allow that step to be recorded multiple times within a single work record.
- For example, you could take several photos during one inspection and add a comment to each.
Using AI to Organize Fields
If you are unsure how to divide your fields between Basic Information and On-Site Information, you can ask AI to organize them. Click “Analyze with AI” in the center of the screen. AI reviews the field names and suggests how to divide them into steps.
Review the suggestion, then click “Apply” in the chat if you are satisfied. The suggested organization will be applied to the screen.
5. Preview Screen
Once you have organized Basic Information and On-Site Information, select “Next” to open the preview screen.
When you reach the preview screen, a message saying “Your App Is Ready” appears. At this point, the basic structure of your app has been created from the fields you entered.
You can now use the preview screen to adjust screen and field settings freely. The next page explains how to use the preview screen in detail.
